NEO NEO is a simple, addictive, and responsive game in which you massacre an army of enemies.

Overview:
The game is fast-paced and intense, getting kills is both rewarding and exhilarating. The controls are simple and easy to understand, though the explanations can confuse new players. It is difficult to get to grips with them if you aren't used to the kind of intense gameplay that NEO NEO involves.
The game itself is bug-free (as far as I have seen), and both the art-style and music are pleasing to the senses.

Difficulty:
As you progress further into the game, it becomes more and more difficult. New enemies with different weapons unlock, and hazards become increasingly dangerous.

Getting past the first floor is difficult at first, whilst you are still getting used to the way the game works, but you will very quickly improve. Due to the warping system, the better you are at the game, the easier it is to quickly progress through earlier floors. Meaning that you won't get annoyed by having to trudge through the first level every time.

However, I personally think that the game would benefit greatly from some sort of practice arena, where you could get used to using the warp abilities.

Unlockables:
You can unlock modifiers that can change the way you play the game. Each modifier works in a way that means you can use whichever suits your style of play the most.

There are also a fair few achievements, most of which involve getting to a certain point in the game, or killing a certain number of enemies.

Music:
There are only a few sound tracks in the game. After a long while the music does become a little repetitive, an ideal improvement would be to add in some sort of dynamic changes to the track whilst the game goes on, this would also have the effect of adding to the increasing intensity and feeling of reward when you get further into the game.. https:\/\/youtu.be\/wxEV1KzB7YI<\/a>

If this looked liek it would interest you, know that it is VERY VERY fast.
That's really All I have to say about it, it does its job, and is priced accordingly.
. A beautiful game with nice smooth responsive controls. Easy to pick up with simple and addictive core mechanics. Great price for what it is. Gets the heart pumping and is just the right level of frustrating to make you want to go again.. A great hi-score chaser, I really enjoy it.. it's a lot of fun after you get the hang of it
its really good, so you should get it.. The positives of this game far outweigh its negatives, and, honestly, at £1.52 this game is a steal. Having said that, here's a little discussion below:

Positives:
1. This game has a very attractive art style and is not overwhelming.
2. The controls are incredibly responsive and intuitive.
3. It is deeply addictive. I suppose this could be a negative too, but for the 6 hours I've spent on this game so far I feel like it has more than made up for its £1.52 price tag, and I still haven't 'completed' it.
4. The price tag: It is £1.52.
5. Achievements unlock upgrades which significantly change the way the game is played. This means that each upgrade you unlock gives you a very different gameplay experience.
6. The concept is quite unique, but also very simple. You pick it up very quickly allowing you to get straight into the game.

Negatives:
1. The game has a little introduction scene when you first load it up which is very attractive. However, that seems to only play the first time you load up the game which, I think, is a shame.
2. I (realise how nitpicky this is), but the game has a spelling mistake I've noticed. I think it was 'allways' instead of 'always', but it isn't exactly a huge problem.
3. I initially thought that the upgrade system would make things easier, and in some ways each upgrade does. However, using some of them (and you can only use one at once) results in a very different 'difficulty' than using others. The shotgun upgrade, for example, seems (at least to me) to be far more powerful than some of the others and result in an easier 'difficulty'. This is not so much a problem, as it results in a much more varied gameplay experience than would otherwise would exist, but I'm not entirely certain if that was the intention. If it was, then I guess this is more of a note than a negative.

Overall though, at under £2 this game is definitely worth it.. It's like being in the Matrix.

    Lets Dance Baby. It's te closest we have to our beloved Bust a Groove game from the PS1, I'd say it's a hybrid between that and Dance Dance Revolution.. At the point of writing this review, I have clocked 55 minutes into the game.

    Now, let's talk about the game. I bought this game at the price of a special promotion, probably some launch discount of something. Frankly speaking, I enjoyed what I paid for and I'm not even done with the single player mode yet. There are some things in game that can be better improved on, or simply if it was different. But that's just my two-cents that you should hold an objective view to.

    First off, music. It's a vital part of any music genre game and here's the verdict. What comes with the game are great and there's a few genres of it to fit the theme of the characters implemented. They sound great, and fluid. No stutter or rubbish. Now that's brilliant in my view. And if you prefer a little extra, you get to play your own songs you already own in your computer by dragging into a game specific folder, and calibrate the bpm(beats-per-minute) yourself in-game. I played Alexandra Stan's Mr. Saxo Beat for custom and it was a smooth process of preparation and play all the way to end with no faults on my loaded music after import. So music is a pass in my point.

    Next, we have graphics. Runs well on my computer with fluidity and and no tearing or stuttering. It's colourful and attractive, and fits the overall theme conveyed by the game. Character textures are great, so there's no accidental intersection of the 3D models, or at least I don't really have time to look at the models while attempting to keep with what's happening. I have no complaints and don't really have much take on this, but it's still a pass in my view.

    Then, we have the all important gameplay. I have a complaint or two, but it's nothing major. Or could be, but here's my take. It's relatively simple and easy to catch on, and the tutorials are short and sweet. Tthat's a plus. Now what's interesting and different about this game is that, you may compare Dance Magic to other music dance battle games like Bust-A-Groove, Audition, whatever. It's almost similar. But here, you don't just enter keys as quickly as you can to match the keys that grow increassingly long in length to finish within a beat. The keys are provided for you, and they're always there and same, but you must follow the beat of the flashing metronome or you'll strike a miss before you even know what's happening. It's fresh, and I like it. Although, I would consider it a plus if keys actually do change after every completion of a set. As per things are now, I could memorise the keys, close my eyes and follow the beats and still win because there's not much of a challenge, however enjoyable it still is.

    There are two modes in the game. Battle and freestyle. Oh, how interesting isn't it. But really, it is. They're two completely different modes of gameplay. Battle would be close to the gameplay mechanic I have described above, and freestyle is more like the DDR(Dance Dance Revolution) kind of gameplay, except directional arrows don't float up or anywhere. It simply stays there. And since I'm on point with the freestyle, let me start from here. I have a major complaint about this mode, but some would think otherwise. Freestyle mode sets a pink window with the directional keys for tapping at the precise beat of the song as a single glowing blue bar repeatedly flows down and back from top again, signalling the time to hit your keys. The window is locked to the left of your screen. That's fine. You get to enjoy the view of your dancer and the vivid backgrounds. Unfortunately, my complaint is that sometimes the flashing of lights or even a whole screen full of confettis can distract you. Maybe I'm just more easily distracted. Fine. But sometimes these distractions affect so that I can't focus on where the blue glowing bar is because there's too much going on in the screen at that moment. Fine, maybe it's just me.

    And here's about the battle mode. It's basically what you know about music dance battle games like the earlier examples I've aforementioned. But here's what makes Dance Magic stands out. Like I said, this isn't a test of your godspeed fingers. It's about recognising beats and with that, you battle out with your opponents with moves of attacks, defenses, and interruptions. These are fresh concepts, and I like them. There are specialty moves that deal extra damage or buffs you. They may also be a great way to boost combo meter, and only considerable if they are defense and interruptions. They can rack up combos easily and help break opponent shields to get attacks through. Combos can also help you deal extra damage, but attack specialties themselves can sometimes K.O. your opponent faster than racking combos and dishing damage. But that's sometimes. There's no timer if you don't press a key and that means no miss. So watch what's happening on screen, but be smart with the real time battle. So back on point with the mechanic, I've also mentioned earlier it's not anymore challenging with the same set of keys, lest the increase of bpm on difficulty. But if I've to make a choice, I prefer this mode over the freestyle.

    Narrations are all over the game, which isn't that bad, but it isn't always great. In battle modes, I have found that with my focus everywhere when things get messy, they help you by letting you know what is happening at the moment. When you're missing, stunned, ready to stun or when you're doing fine, the narration can be all over but may help. When it comes to freestyle, I have no clue what it serves for. It's distracting, and sometimes narrated at a point it disrupts your rhythm and voila, I missed. I don't need a person to tell me I'm a legend or amazing or that my mom would be proud of me the whole time I'm trying to focus on where my glowing blue bar is to prevent a miss. So there, it's not that bad, but I wasn't a fan. At least his voice wasn't hard on my ears. A-ok. Perfects, greats and misses could have had different sound effects too.

    You're probably wondering by now, "When are you going to talk about the multiplayer?" Well, here's your answer. I never got down to experience it because no servers were ever found for me. It's relatively sparse, considering the game is new and on assumption that not a lot of people own it. Here's hoping I'll find a friend or two to play with me so I can earn me some achievements along the way. But here's the good news. You can play multiplayer for both battle and freestyle. So take your pick guys, and get on those leaderboards when you find an opponent to play with.

    Lastly, you're going to question about individuality in the game. Sure, customisations are minimal and most-importantly-not-ugly, and are readily available with no garbage micro-transactions. I sincerely hope there would be more than what's readily available in the future, but I have a good feeling that may come with micro-transactions. I mean, as much as we like an all-in-one package or freebies, you can't always expect a developer to dish out more than you're paying for. It's not always fair. But that's beside the point. One complaint I have, however minor, it would be extremely pleasing to eye if the developers could give each shop item their own skin icon instead of using the default skin icon for every single item listing. It's somewhat troublesome to click on every single item to see it dressed on your character in the shop, no matter the name of the item on list. It makes shopping easier, really.

    So, I mean, all in all, it's not a bad game but may not be everyone's jam. It wasn't what I thought it was, but still enough fun to keep me going. I had secretly harboured the wish and desired that freestyle was closer to the battle mode, and similar to games like Bust-A-Groove or Audition instead of the DDR style, but here's what makes it unique as Dance Magic. There can be improvements, maybe new characters or songs, but for whatever it was priced and offered in game at release? Sure. I'll recommend it.. After a few years of its release on the console platform, the game finally reaches Steam.

    The cartoon characters in the game stand out one after another, showing and associating their vibrant colors with their themes and dancing styles.

    Each venue stands out between each other mostly, with unique effects and fireworks going off at the right time to the songs featured in the game.

    Gameplay varies depending on your setup. Of course when it comes to rhythm games, timing is critical. Unfortunately, this game has no sync settings, which means that you may need to calibrate and adjust your graphics and audio settings in some other manner. Often times, I have to hit buttons earlier than hearing from the song in order to score a perfect hit.

    Until the game gets more popular on Steam, online multiplayer is still very scarce. Considering its popularity on previous platforms (and more importantly, its age), it's still yet to be determined on whether or not anybody is willing to play online.

    If you're a veteran rhythm gamer, you won't have a hard time learning and adapting to the controls and gameplay rules at all. Considering your experiences, you might find the AI in tournament and skirmish battles to be a little too merciful.

    Dance Magic is a nice, light, casual game for the rhythm game fanatic that carries the essences of previously well-known titles and creates a slightly distinguishable twist on how it can be played, either alone or against others. But its best you only get it if you find friends who have a common interest.. Dance Magic:

    Dance Magic is an action \/ dance game where you play one of seven dancers available to you (actually three at the start and four to unlock). Each dancer has his\/her own style of dancing, depending on whether you like a bit of a Spanish move, break dancing, groovy disco dancing and or something else. Essentially, what you will need to do is to beat your opponent by synchronising your moves with the rhythm of a song (over 30 tracks in this game). It is all about timing and it can be tricky at times. Have you ever heard the phrase he\/she has two left feet? If so, you might be one of them! The game will give you several modes to play; tournament, battle (skirmish, multiplayer) and freestyle. In the tournament, when you beat an opponent, you will be rewarded with money.

    With this money, you will be able to unlock a stacks of items for each of the dancers. If you like customization, you will be well served here. . . Fabulous! You will be able to change clothes, hair-dos, jewellery and more. If you like customising characters, you will love this feature, its great fun!

    Very nice graphics and the game runs very well. The controls are responsive and easy to master.

Very fast paced and unique arcade shooter. It kind of works like tempest but with full 3D levels and models. You kill bugs and collect money\/upgrades. There is also a really awesome 90s techno OST blasting out of the headphones while playing.. I'm not sure if this is really a good game, like by itself, I don't really have much of a frame of reference to go on for these types of games. But god damn, the soundtrack coupled with the trippy visuals make it a fantastic time, especially if you already like Vegas. Getting The Crystal Method to let them use their epic album for the music was a grand decision, and one that made me remember playing this game like fifty years after I first played it on the PS1.. This is literally a half-anused PlayStation1 Emulator; so weak is the port that the on-screen indicators are PSX icons which are useless and annoying to navigate. It offers no audio or visual improvements AT ALL, running at a painfully dated VGA resolution (320x240x256c). It doesn't even seem to run at 60-fps. No PC port should be inferior to the console version, especially a console from 1994. You don't even get the benefit of Crystal Method's 'Vegas' on CD, or for that matter **a way to play any music at all.**

I'm especially mad because I'm one of the hundred people who loved the original. Do yourself a favor: find a copy of the PlayStation CD-ROM, get an accelerated PSX emulator (some of them are free) or even just a used PS1. This class of shovelware is overpriced at a dollar... \u2612\u2612. Released in 1998 for the PSX, N20 is a tunnel shooter heavily sold on its soundtrack by famed late 90's electronica producers, The Crystal Method.

I don't even listen to techno that much but even the name "The Crystal Method" rings a bit of a bell for me. Turns out their song was in the opening of Splinter Cell, used in a lot of ads and tv commercials well into the mid 2000's, in some movies (DBZ), and in plenty of video games. They're not Daft Punk huge, but they do have a legacy.

A lot of your enjoyment of this game is accentuated by the soundtrack (check any of the other reviews). Not that anyone else's opinion should be relevant on your owns, but this game contains the majority of their first album (with a few remixes). Out of their discography, the first album is generally believed to be their best. And regardless of how it compares to others in the genre or their own history, I concur: the music here is damn good. It's certainly very 90's, but it rings something like F-Zero GX's. Something like<\/i>

Speaking of which, the game itself can certainly stand on its own two feet. It's a tunnel shooter, which means you are going through a tunnel and can move all around its walls whilst taking out incoming enemies. You have to take out a set amount of enemies before facing a boss, and the faster you take out enemies the faster you go. It's actually impressive how fast you can go in a PSX era game whilst maintaining 60 fps. It's reminiscent of F-Zero. The soundtrack was certainly a selling point for the title, but even when I have the game turned down it stands as a competent game of its genre.

The only visible downside this game has is how the levels repeat themselves at the end. There are 30 levels, 15 of which are "version 2" of the levels previously played. Granted, the tunnels you are in move so much and turn in wild ways that you'd be hard pressed to find similarities from level to level (or even recall that this was a previously played level) if it weren't for the backgrounds and bosses. In other words, you wouldn't be able to tell these are levels already played if it weren't for their titles and same backgrounds used.

Otherwise, this game isn't particularly revolutionary or complex. It's a competent tunnel shooter with a noteworthy soundtrack which forms a cumulatively tight experience. At its heart its a simple arcade game. Recommended.. I'm a longtime fan of the PS1 original. This is a pretty good port that runs well (fast and stable). It autodetected my USB controllers without issue. It has a few interesting updates over the original, adding X360\/PS4 gamepad support, a tutorial level, achievements, and a shorter game (15 levels) if you select Easy difficulty. Load times are substantially faster than the PS1 and PSP releases. All the old codes work, nothing's been taken out, and the new additions don't change or get in the way of the gameplay that made this one a classic. Great visuals and soundtrack, rock-solid gameplay. The original game is still pretty cheap and easy to find, but this version will be the main one I play from here on.. I used to fry my brain playing this as a kid for hours at a time. I was always hoping this game would get a reboot but this is fine for now.

    When reviewing a game, it is sometimes important to know what is already in the market. This game is effectively inferior to Beat Hazard, a game with a much higher production and better gameplay than this one. Why waste your time playing this game when that one exists?

    Before going into this game you must understand what sort of music this game adheres to. Music games in general all have a specific preference. Some generate more varied gameplay for more genres and styles of music than others. Audioship is pretty accepting of its music vs others, however those who listen to music that might leave a certain aspect of music out (like no bass) or have very few instruments will still be frustrated.


    Pros (any pro that this game has will be one that Beat Hazard doesn't):

    - Up to 4 people can play.
    - 2 people can play on one keyboard.
    - Navigating music menu is easy.
    - "Test Your Luck" mode is excellent for parties.
    - No game soundeffects that take away or cover your music.


    Cons:

    - Accepts very few music file types. Only mp3, wav and ogg.
    - .wav music type apparently doesn't actually play, it just cuts straight to the end.
    - Music menu does not remember position. Annoying if you have large libraries.
    - Cannot change specific volume settings. The menu sound effects are loud and irritating as \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 because of this.
    - Cannot map the keys. Irritating if you are playing solo and it would be much better for wasd to be on arrow keys etc.
    - Cannot back out of the "controller settings" if you selected more players than you have responding controllers for.
    - Enemies are uncreative and boring. They are just coloured "shapes".
    - Enemies do not follow the music very well. They may spawn in time with the music, but we are not fighting them in time with the music. A break or solo in the song results in a screen covered with enemies that we are not equipped to fighting.
    - There is no apparent musical pattern to how the enemies appear.
    - Your control responsiveness changes depending on which button you press to ready up. Both R and P give you slow and accelerating commands (which are not desireable in what is effectively a bullet hell) whereas enter does not. However enter does not let you change colour nor rotate.
    - Bug: In multiplayer, after activating your rainbow "be able to shoot everything" power, player 2 will have its colour forcibly changed.. Doesn't even read my music, other than that...looks ok.
